Out of Hospital, Into Myself.

This series of works explores the hospital gown as both material and symbol within the broader Out of Hospital Into Myself project. Working with fragments of discarded gowns, each piece functions as a material study, testing how the fabric can hold gesture, stitch, and narrative. Through embroidery, cutting, layering, and reconstruction, the gown moves beyond its clinical function to become a site for reflection on the body, vulnerability, and care. By re-contextualising a garment associated with illness and institutional medicine, the work transforms the material into a space for personal narrative, collective experience, and acts of repair.
