Taster Pottery Classes.

Hand-Building with Clay

Curious about working with clay but not ready to commit to a full course? These 2.5-hour pottery taster sessions are a relaxed introduction to hand-building techniques and the joy of working with clay.

In this group session, you will learn the fundamentals of hand-building while creating your own unique ceramic pieces. Using techniques such as pinch pots, slab building, and simple coiling, you’ll explore how clay can be shaped, textured, and decorated.

These sessions are designed to be welcoming and accessible for complete beginners, while still offering enough creative freedom for those who have some experience.

Working in a calm studio setting in Henfield, the focus is on process, creativity, and connection to the material rather than perfection.

At the end of the session, you’ll choose your favourite pieces to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired, ready for collection a few weeks later.
