ABOUT THE COURSE
Take time for yourself and learn the foundations of hand-built pottery in a warm, friendly and supportive studio environment. This 6-week course is ideal for complete beginners, as well as those wishing to return to clay and build confidence at a steady pace.
Across the weeks, you’ll be guided step-by-step through essential hand-building techniques, with space to develop your own creative ideas and personal style.
What You’ll Learn
• Pinch pots – shaping forms directly with your hands
• Coiling – building expressive or functional vessels
• Slab building – constructing forms from rolled clay
• Surface decoration – exploring texture, carving, coloured slip, and glazing
You’ll complete a collection of finished ceramic pieces, which will be glazed and fired in the studio.
Firing is included for a reasonable number of pieces. Larger or additional work can be fired for a small fee.
